Cronkite Communications is a student-run public relations agency founded in 2002 by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter at Arizona State University.
Our Mission
Cronkite Communications exists to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between students seeking work experience in public relations and organizations seeking affordable, effective communication solutions.

• Media relations (including media releases, press kits, etc.) • Public relations planning (including event, communication and campaign plans) • Design/production services (including flyers, posters, newsletter and brochure design) • Speechwriting and other copywriting services • Research services
Agency Structure
Cronkite Communications is affiliated with ASU’s PRSSA chapter. Membership is open to all ASU students regardless of academic discipline. Agency members elect the executive council, comprised of a director, co-director, director of client services, treasurer, secretary and agency publicity manager.

Military veteran, Juliann Stone Michler is excited to be the Cronkite Communications agency director. While in the military, Juliann worked as a public affairs and broadcast specialist. Her duties took her to countries such as Germany, Macedonia, France, Hungry, Kosovo and Bulgaria. Now,Juliann lives in southwest Phoenix and studies public relations and political science at Arizona State University. She plans to graduate in May 2005 and return to working in public affairs as a civilian.

Cronkite Communications co-Director, Amy Linert studies public relations and political science. She transferred to Arizona State University her sophomore year from University of Arizona where she studied Business Marketing. Amy started working in non-profit public relations with United Cerebral Palsy.Though working with UCP in her spare time is still important to her, this semester Amy moved from non-profit to working in agency PR. Now she interns with B.J. Communications, one of Arizona¹s leading PR agencies. She plans to graduate in December 2005 and enter the public relations field.

Strategic Media and Public Relations student Mike Policar is in his third year at ASU. Mike's experience is mostly in sports. With internships with the Arizona Rattlers arena football team, ASU athletics and the Arizona Cardinals,Mike enjoys working in the media relations field. In addition to those internships, Mike has also worked with ESPN, Fox Sports, and ABC Sports. He plans to graduate in December 2005. He is very excited to be a part of the Cronkite Communications PR agency's executive board.

David Leshner is a senior graduating in May 2005 with a degree in Journalism with a concentration in Strategic Media and Public Relations and a minor in Business. He has been in PRSSA for two years and is currently working as an intern for the City of Phoenix Public Information Office. He also works part time for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Rattlers in their media relations departments. After graduating David plans to go onto graduate school or work media relations in professional sports.
Cronkite Communications Publicity Manager, Ljubinka Slaveska, is a freshman majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication. She plans on concentrating in Public Relations when she applies to the Cronkite School¹s professional program. Coming from Macedonia, this is her first year in the United States. She has done internships with the European Union (the PHARE VET program in Macedonia), and with the Netherlands Embassy in Macedonia, working on linking Dutch companies with Macedonian businesses. Currently she is involved in the preparation of The Southeastern European Times (www.setimes.com ), a daily online newspaper. Besides English, she is fluent in Macedonian, Spanish and Greek, and is now learning German. After graduation, she would like to work for a public relations company.
Cathryn Savino is from Parker, Arizona. She is a Junior atASU majoring in journalism/Mass communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. Cathryn spent last semester working on the promotions team for The Blaze 1260 AM, the student-run radio station at ASU. She is also involved with the Diamondbacks Charity organization through Public Relations Student Society of America where she volunteers her time at special events.

Dr. Tricia Farwell is the Cronkite Communications faculty advisor. She recently completed her Ph.D. in English Literature. In addition to the doctorate, she holds a Master of Arts in Literature and a Master of Mass Communication degree from Arizona State University. She has over 13 years of experience in corporate public relations. This fall Dr. Farwell is teaching JMC 415, Writing for PR, and JMC 401, Advance PR Techniques.
